Useful test tools for servers

Service Description
ServerIsDown (this site) This service will try a connection from our server to the server to be tested. Test DNS configuration (IntoDNS)
telnet (server-name) 80 Use this command-line to see if the web server is not responding. Example response when server is up:
    telnet 80
    Connected to
    Escape character is '^]'.
ping server-name Use this command-line to find the associated server IP and check response time. This only works if 'ping' is enabled.
Example response when ping is enabled and server is working:
    Pinging [] with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from bytes=32 time=244ms TTL=51
    Reply from bytes=32 time=242ms TTL=51
    Reply from bytes=32 time=242ms TTL=51
